Known Issues

1. Ingredient Suggestions - General

Ingredient suggestions should be improved. Very common ingredients such as salt, sugar and butter are often listed as suggestions. These very common items are unhelpful. We will generate a better algorithm so that more suitable and interesting suggestions are listed.

2. Ingredient Suggestions - With Title Keywords

The ingredient suggestions generated are poor when a recipe title is being searched for. Better correlation between our suggestions and the ingredients in recipes matching the keywords must be generated.

Planned Improvements

1. Results Randomization

Allowing the user to request randomizing of results would be useful. For example, if looking for a cocktail recipe it would be useful to be able to hit a randomize button. Randomized results would force different recipes to the top of the lists, so that users are not just presented with the same list all of the time.

2. Saving Recipes

Allowing users to save a recipe list would be useful. Since recipes are not actually stored by us this can cause problems when the recipe owner changes the location of the recipe. We will have to provide a method of resynchronizing this recipe list with the owner site when any problems occur.

3. Ingredient Grouping

Grouping certain ingredients together and allowing an optional relaxed search across the group would be helpful. e.g. When searching for recipes with oranges in, allow recipes with orange juice and orange peel to be returned.
